Frequently asked questions
The questions PROs ask most often — how to find jobs, what your minimum service fee does, what the balance on your account is for, and how client coupons work.
About the platform
ProNextDoor connects people who need work done with professionals near them.
For clients: you describe the problem in your own words, add a photo or a voice note if it helps, and set what you are willing to pay for the visit. The app finds PROs nearby who match, and you pick the one you want.
For PROs: you set the minimum you charge to come out, and jobs that fit your trades, your area and your price appear on your map. You look at the job before you commit to anything.
You are not paying for leads
You see the job, the client’s offer and the drive first. If it is not worth it, you skip it and it costs you nothing. You only pay a connection fee at the moment you accept.

Profile and setup
Profile → About → Specializations → edit.
Select every trade you actually work in and save. The change takes effect immediately — new jobs matching the trades you just added start appearing on your map.
This is the single most common reason a PRO sees few jobs. Every specialization you leave off is a category of work you never get shown. If you do it, list it.
While you are in there, two neighbours worth checking: Profile → About → Description, what clients read about you before hiring, and Profile → Your MSF, your fees.
Finding and doing jobs
Jobs come to you — you do not search a listings board. Four things have to be true for a job to reach your map:
Requirement | Where to fix it |
|---|---|
You are verified | Profile → Verification |
You are online | Toggle at the top of the home screen |
The job matches your specializations | Profile → About |
The job is in range and at or above your MSF | Profile → Your MSF |
Going online also requires notification permission and background location permission. The app takes you to whichever one is missing.
Once you are online, open jobs appear on the home map and you get a push notification for new ones nearby. Your past and pending offers live under My Projects and Proposal history.
Online but nothing is coming in?
Check, in this order: your work location (is it still where you actually start your day?), your MSF first tier (is it above what people near you are offering?), and your specializations (are they too narrow?).
- 1
Go online
No jobs are sent to you while you are offline.
- 2
Open a job on the map
Read the description, look at the photos and video, check the address and the schedule.
- 3
Set your ETA
The app will not let you accept without it. Be honest — including traffic and any stop you plan on the way.
- 4
Set your fee for this job
Accept the client’s terms, waive your minimum with Free MSF, or name your own amount.
- 5
Accept
The connection fee is charged at this moment.
- 6
Wait for the client to confirm you
You will get a notification either way. If another PRO is chosen or the request times out, the job moves to your Proposal history.
- 7
Call the client
Do this as soon as you are assigned. It is the difference between a smooth job and a bad review.
- 8
Tap On way
The client sees the status change live.
- 9
Tap Arrived
When you get there.
- 10
Do the work
If the client has a coupon, deduct it from the bill.
- 11
Tap Complete
The app double-checks before it goes through.
- 12
The client confirms
Only they can close the job. You are notified when they do.
If you cannot do the job after all, leave it from the job screen — as early as possible. The client is notified immediately and the job goes back into search.
Yes. Call the client as soon as you are assigned — every time.
The app pushes you toward it: for jobs that came from the website a call is required before you can proceed, and you get a prompt to call before your visit on the rest.
Call to agree on:
what exactly needs doing, and whether the description matches reality,
the price of the actual work, on top of your service fee,
parking, access, gate codes, pets, whether anyone will be home,
your arrival time, in their words, not just as an ETA in an app.
Five minutes on the phone prevents the two things that sink jobs: showing up for work you cannot do, and a client who expected a different price.
You can call, text or copy the client’s number straight from the job screen.
Money
MSF = Minimum Service Fee. It is what you charge just to show up — travel and your time getting there.
Set your minimum service fee to cover your travel and time. You can always adjust the fee when you accept a job, giving you full control and transparency.
You set it by distance, in tiers:
Distance | Fee |
|---|---|
up to 15 miles | $100 |
up to 25 miles | $150 |
beyond that | $200 |
Those are examples — your numbers are yours. The rules: each tier must be farther than the one before it, each fee at least as much as the previous one, and the "beyond" fee must be higher than your top tier.
You are never locked in. Change your standard tiers any time in Profile → Your MSF, and on any individual job you can raise your fee or waive it entirely with Free MSF.
From the client’s side, the same idea: they set the visit fee they are offering, or choose a free estimate and let PROs propose their own. Your MSF is what decides which of those jobs you get shown.
It is a promo credit we give you so you can try the service.
New PROs start with a credit on their ProNextDoor balance — it was $300, and it is $100 now — and you spend it on connection fees. That means you can accept real jobs and see how the platform works before you put a card on file or spend anything of your own.
Your balance is platform credit that pays your connection fees — the flat fee charged when you accept a job. It is not a wallet of your earnings and it is not money the platform owes you.
In | Out |
|---|---|
Promotional credit from ProNextDoor | Connection fees when you accept a job |
Top-ups from your card | |
Refunds of connection fees | |
Referral rewards | |
Client coupons you honored |
Every movement is itemized in Wallet → Finance, marked Credited or Charged, so you can see exactly where it came from and what it paid for.
Keep the balance funded: when it runs out, you cannot accept jobs. Top up from Wallet → Finance → Top up — a card is required, up to $100,000 per top-up.
You can’t — and that is by design, not a missing feature.
The balance is credit for platform fees, not cash. There is no withdrawal in the app because the balance was never your earnings in the first place. It has one job: paying connection fees so you can take work.
"Withdraw" in the app means something else
It means withdrawing an offer you applied with on a job, so you can change your MSF and ETA and apply again. Nothing to do with money.
The client has a discount voucher from ProNextDoor, and you honor it, then we pay you back.
Concretely, on a $30 coupon:
- 1
You see a Coupon banner on the job before you accept it
Accepting the job means agreeing to honor the coupon.
- 2
You do the work and agree the price as usual
Say the job comes to $200.
- 3
You deduct $30 from their bill
They pay you $170.
- 4
When the job is confirmed done, tap Coupon applied
- 5
$30 is credited to your ProNextDoor balance
By accepting this job, you agree to honor the coupon and deduct it from the total cost of the job. The coupon amount will be reimbursed to your ProNextDoor account once you confirm that the job was done and the coupon was applied.
Don’t skip the confirmation step
The reimbursement is triggered by you confirming the coupon was applied. The app reminds you after completion — tap Coupon applied to credit your balance.
And you are not losing $30. You are advancing it and getting it back as credit that pays your connection fees. For the client it is a reason to book — which is why coupon jobs tend to get taken quickly.
Yes — promo codes can grant several things, visible under Wallet → Benefits:
Benefit | What it does |
|---|---|
Free order fee | Connection fee waived for a number of jobs |
Fee discount | Connection fee reduced by a percentage |
Balance credit | Money added to your balance |
Each shows its state: Applied, Expired, Uses exhausted or Inactive. Activate a new code from the same tab.
Verification and trust
Identity verification is required before you can work — you cannot go online without it. It is free, secure, does not affect your credit, and it is what lets clients trust someone they have never met enough to give them their address.
Profile → Verification → Verify Now. It takes a few minutes in the app.
Possible outcomes: approved, under review, or failed — in which case try again or contact support. If your session expires, tap Verify Now again.
